ROUTE
Embedded by fire in the Teno Rural Park we find one of the most beautiful and representative places in Tenerife. The one known as Monte del Agua encompasses a humid laurel forest that is crossed by some trails that run through its entrails.
The laurel forest forms an ecosystem typical of another era (in this case of the Tertiary) and that we can currently enjoy, in addition to some of the Canary Islands, in nearby archipelagos such as the Azores and the island of Madeira. Also known as monteverde, it keeps unique plant and animal relics in the world.
Among the characteristic plant species of the laurel forest we find about 20 specimens, among them the heather, the aceviño, the barbusano, the viñatigo, the linden and the willow that, together with mosses and lichens, form a wooded mass that grows so lush thanks to the great water contribution brought by very special winds, the Alders.
